The best part about being an author for me is having plenty of time to spend with Family. Is it a career path I would recommend? Yes, absolutely. But it is not for the faint of heart. As S.J. Perelman said, “The dubious privilege of a freelance writer is he’s given the freedom to starve anywhere.” You will starve, you will be rejected, you will be in despair. But if you can get through that and keep going, the chances are good you will be successful. Nothing good in life comes easy, whether you are an accountant, writer, or scientist.
